The princess cut diamond is next in line in terms of popularity. This fancy cut diamond is quite versatile and commonly chosen for engagement ring settings. Princess cut diamonds are a four-sided pyramid shape, the corners of which are best protected by prongs built into the setting. Since these angles were close to rock and stone when harvested, they are the most likely part to suffer from inclusions. Most typically found as a square cut, some princess cut diamonds will be rectangular in shape.
