It’s A Matter of Certification

It’s A Matter of Certification

February 9, 2016

Grand Jewelers knows it’s products, and we want you to know our products too. The first step to making a great jewelry purchase is education. That is why we want to explain the difference between certified and non-certified diamonds. We sell both, so we want you to make the best choice for you. Not all diamonds in a jewelry store are certified. While those diamonds that carry a certification often cost more, a certified diamond is not necessarily of better quality than a non-certified one. There is however a difference.

A diamond certification is a stamp of approval. This stamp identifies the various factors that define the quality of a diamond using cut, clarity, carat, and color. The certification gives the diamond a grade for each of these four factors, thus establishing its credibility. A buyer can think of a diamond’s certification as insurance on its quality. A non-certified diamond is not necessarily of lesser quality or somehow a fraud, it simply lacks the certification. The same rating or grade might be held by a non-certified diamond, but without knowledgeable inspection or a trained eye, you might not be able guarantee it. For this reason, a diamond without a certification will usually be less expensive.

At Grand Jewelers, we work hard to be a jewelry seller that you can trust. With that trust you are guaranteed that we will sell you an excellent diamond with high quality, whether it is certified or not. We aim for each of our customers to feel happy and comfortable with every purchase they make from Grand Jewelers. If you want certified proof of your diamond’s quality, we have a lovely collection for you. If you are happy with the quality of a diamond no matter the documentation, we also have an excellent collection for you. We specialize in all kinds of diamonds and our primary goal is that you are delighted with your purchase. Stop in to Grand Jewelers or contact us online to learn more!
