Sunny

I, Suresh Mahtani, also known as “Sunny“, was born on April 25th 1966 in Bangalore ,India. As a teenager I would often go to my father’s store during my holidays and watch him interact with customers making interesting sales, which sparked an interest in me.

On completion of my studies, I decided to venture overseas and landed myself on this 37 square mile island of St Maarten, my gorgeous new home. The year 1994 was of great significance as I got married to a charismatic, lovely and simple young woman: Rakhi, who is my strong pillar of support.

I have been an integral part of our company Grand Jewelers comprising 2 generations, Jack Sakhrani who opened the 1st Grand Jewelers in St Thomas, and my present generation. The next most significant year in my life was 1998. Rakhi and I were blessed with a son, Vishal. 22 years later, he now lives in the Netherlands having recently graduated with a BSc in International Business.

It’s been a great 30 years and counting, during which I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many great clients who have become friends and family. Besides my busy work schedule, I enjoy playing various sports such as cricket, badminton, and chess. I also love to travel and hope to do more after my retirement.

Along with the rest of my team at Grand Jewelers, I hope to keep selling all the diamonds and gems that bring a sparkle and joy to my clients’ lives! Thank you!
